First steps of National E-Agriculture Strategy were taken with TAGEM and FAO cooperation

The kick-off workshop on the “Supporting the Development of the National E-Agriculture Strategy” project, which will be carried out in cooperation with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) was held at the Atatürk Conference Hall of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ankara, Turkey.

TAGEM General Manager Özkan Kayacan, FAO Central Asia Sub-Regional Office Coordinator and Representative of Turkey, Viorel Gutu, private sector representatives, civil society representatives ministry personnel participated in the workshop.

Stating that the National E-Agriculture Strategy Document will be ready in 2020 regarding the workshop, Kayacan emphasized the importance of the project by saying “Today we are taking the first steps in developing policy on information and communication technologies and smart agricultural practices.”
