Harvesting of Organic Mushrooms Produced at Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University started

The first harvest of organically cultivated mushrooms started to be grown in the mushroom production facilities of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, was done by the Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and the Rector of Bolu University.
In the 150-square-meter production facilities of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed with the Bolu Municipality, the harvest work of approximately 6.5 tons of organic mushrooms produced using 20 tons of mushroom nutrient compost began about 45 days ago. The Rector of BAIBU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı, Mayor of Bolu Tanju Özcan, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Çiftçi and academics and municipal staff involved in the project participated in the ceremony for the first harvest. The wholesale price of mushrooms grown without the use of any pesticides will be 10 Turkish liras per kilogram.
